1. Switch off the engine and engage the chain brake; for cordless saws, remove the battery
2. Loosen the nuts
3. Release the chain brake
4. Lift the guide bar at the tip and turn the adjusting screw clockwise or anti-clockwise until the following conditions are met: – The distance between the bar rail and the tie straps, in the middle of the guide bar, is 1 mm to 2 mm. – The saw chain can still be pulled over the guide bar with two fingers and with little effort
5. Continue to lift the guide bar at the tip and tighten the nuts
6. If the distance a in the middle of the guide bar is not 1 mm to 2 mm, retension the saw chain
7. Close the handle of the (wing) nut if necessary

1. Remove the mains plug or battery.
2. Open the handle of the wing nut and loosen the nut
3. Turn the tension wheel to the right as far as it will go
4. Tighten the nut by hand
5. Fold down the handle of the wing nut

To ensure that your chainsaw is working optimally, it is important that the chain pitch (1) is precisely matched to the sprocket and guide bar. Likewise, the thickness of the drive links of the chain (2) must correspond to the groove width of the guide bar (3).


Unscrew the nuts and remove the sprocket cover.

Turn 4 anti-clockwise until the clamping nut (5) butts against the left of the housing slot.
