How can I repair a broken wire on the iMOW®?

Note: Before you prepare your STIHL product for use, put it into operation, clean, transport, store, maintain, repair, troubleshoot or dispose of it, please read the instruction manual carefully. The instruction manual contains safety instructions and supports you in using your STIHL product in a safe and environmentally friendly manner over a long service life.

If a wire break has occurred, the iMOW® robotic mower does not receive a wire signal and cannot recognise the mowing area.

A wire break is illustrated by a red flashing LED on the docking station.

Options for finding a wire break

  • Check the plug connections on the charging station. Are all wires plugged in correctly?
  • Has any gardening work been carried out recently, such as weeding or scarifying? Look in these places.
  • Uncover the wire connectors from the guide and perimeter wire, as well as the no-go areas, and check them for damage.
  • If you have extra wire, you can use new wire to bridge sections of the laid wire between the charging station and connectors and thus locate the damaged area.

Repair wire breakage

Once you have found the broken wire, you can fix the broken wire with an additional piece of wire, wire connectors and fixing pins. STIHL offers the FIX KIT 1 iMOW for this purpose.
