How do I prepare my STIHL AR L battery for use?

Note: Before you prepare your STIHL product for use, put it into operation, clean, transport, store, maintain, repair, troubleshoot or dispose of it, please read the instruction manual carefully. The instruction manual contains safety instructions and supports you in using your STIHL product in a safe and environmentally friendly manner over a long service life.

The following steps must be carried out every time before starting work:

  • Check LEDs and beeps.
  • Fully charge battery.
  • Clean battery.
  • If the connecting cord is used:

- Clean contact surfaces of the connecting cord.
- Attach connecting cord or attach battery and connecting cord to carrying system.

  • Check that the battery is in a safe condition*.
  • If the carrying system, the connecting cord and the adapter AP are used

- Make sure that the carrying system, the connecting cord and the adapter AP are in a safe condition*.

  • If the steps cannot be carried out

- Do not use the battery and consult a STIHL servicing dealer.

* Safe condition:
Product is not damaged, is clean, dry, functional and not modified, only original and correctly installed STIHL accessories are used.
